Work area - First of all he joined India's Defense Department after his higher education. He took over as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.

Information About Apj Abdul Kalam

APJ Abdul Kalam was an engineer who took over as President of India from 2002-2007. From the last four decades of becoming the President, he was associated with many of India's major Science and Scientist organizations.

The organizations which they are associated with are the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

He was born in a very humble family in a fisherman's house. He completed his Aerospace Engineering education with the Madras Institute of Technology.
 
His dream was that he could become a pilot in the Indian Air Force but he could not succeed in it. While working in DRDO and ISRO, he was selected as Chief Scientific Adviser.

APJ Abdul Kalam is also credited as Chief Scientific Advisor in the successful Vishap test of Nuclear Pokhran-II of India. This test was done at the time of Prime Minister's tenure of Atal Bihari Bajpai Ji.

When he was elected as President in 2002, he became Professor of Aerospace Engineering at Anna University and he used to lecture students to some of the largest universities in India.
 

 Childhood & Early Life

Abdul Kalam ji was the youngest of his 5 siblings. He was born in Jainulabudeen, a boat owner and fisherman who was born in the house of Ukraine. His mother's name was Ashima (Ashiamma). He was born on 15 October 1931 in Dhanushkodi, Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu (India).

He did not have the money in his house that Abdul Kalam could teach him so Abdul Kalam used to work as well as studying. They used to earn money by selling the newspaper daily to meet their school education needs and used to buy their studies material from that money.

It is said that they bought the newspaper and brought it to the train. But the difficult thing was that the train did not stop at their railway station and was stopped at the next station, which was 3-4 kilometers away. They used to throw the box in their own railway station and then they used to go off the station from that station 4 kilometers away and then used to pick up the box of their newspaper and sell them.

He completed his school education at Schwartz Matriculation School of Ramanathapuram and completed his graduate studies with Saint Joseph's College, Tiruchirappalli.
After that, he completed the education of Aerospace Engineering in 1960 from Madras Institute of Technology.

Work in DRDO


After his education, he joined DRDO as a scientist and initially, he contributed immensely in designing a small helicopter.

Due to being part of the Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR) for space research, he got an opportunity to work with people like India's great scientist like Vikram Ambalal Sarabhai

Work in ISRO

In 1969, he was sent to ISRO, where he worked as Project Director.

He made his eulogy in creating the first Satellite Launch Vehicle (SLV III) and Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), whose launch was successful later on.

In 1980, the Government of India decided to start a modern missile program with Abdul Kalam ji directing, so he again sent it to DRDO. After that Integrated Guided Missile Development Program (IGMDP) was started as Chief Executive of Kalam Ji. With the instructions of Abdul Kalam ji, the making of missile-like fire missile, earth succeeded

Abdul  Kalam’s Presidency

In the year 2002, he was elected as the 11th President of India. He appreciated all the major political parties in India. He became the first Indian scientist to win presidential elections and also to be considered as the most respected President.

He again refused to contest the presidential election and left his presidential office on July 25, 2007.

Abdul Kalam’ Death

 He died on July 27, 2015, from a heart attack during one of his lectures at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indian Institute of Management.

Even if they left us, but the success and height gave to India, they will not be the whole country but the world will always remember.
